Red Doe Plantation, also known as the Evander Gregg House, was built around 1836-1846. It was put on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
It is reputedly haunted by a frightening apparition - that of a "wolfish" looking man with claw for a hand. This spectre is said to rise from the bushes by the side enterance of the plantation. Others have reported witnessing the apparition of a middle-aged man in denim, shadowy figures, and the ghosts of Confederate soldiers on the property. Near one of the slave cabins, reports have been made of a sad female voice.
